Sacramental Preparation 
for
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
2000-2001

Holy Communion is the Body and Blood of Jesus which becomes present for us when the priest consecrates the bread and wine at Mass.  Jesus gives Himself to us in Communion as a sign of God's presence and to deepen our relationship with Him and His disciples.  It is normally the second sacrament of initiation into membership in our Church.

          The celebration of the Eucharist at Mass also renews the sacrifice of Jesus by which we have been redeemed.  It is the primary act of worship for the Faith Community which Catholics celebrate every week.

**NOTE:   Archdiocesan guidelines prescribe a two year preparation period, usually during the lst and 2nd grades.  Students who are older, and have not yet received Reconciliation and Eucharist, should consult with Sterling Millet, Director of Religious Education, at the Parish Center, for directions.

Registration for students preparing to receive these sacraments is available at the Parish Center throughout the month of August, for this school year.  Office hours are from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM.  Parents are asked to bring a copy of their child's baptism certificate.  Those interested in receiving these sacraments, at other times during the year than the beginning of school, should inquire at the Parish Center.
